Task Force Meeting

The Flight 93 Memorial Task Force will hold their meeting on Saturday, February 21, 2004 in the All-Purpose Room of the Shanksville-Stonycreek School from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The morning session is open to the public. The morning session involves various standing committee reports including, but not limited to: National Park Service and Advisory Commission updates; lands/resources briefing; memorial design planning details and updates on improvements at the Flight 93 Temporary Memorial site. Mr. Ed McMahon, Vice President and Director of Land Use Programs, The Conservation Fund, will offer a special presentation entitled, "The Dollars and Sense of Protecting Sacred Landscapes". The public is invited to attend this informative session, which acknowledges the challenges the local community will face in the coming years as the Flight 93 National Memorial is developed. His presentation also emphasizes the opportunities local communities have to shape their own future and the hard work necessary to protect and enhance the qualities they value about the community. The afternoon sessions include working committee meetings and are closed to the public and media. For questions or additional information concerning the Task Force meeting, please contact Susan Hankinson, Coordinator at 814.445.1408 or
